Five members of a family have reportedly died in atragic road accident early Thursday morning when an allegedly over speeding car smashed against a truck near Jatwal in Samba district of Jammu region in Jammu-Pathankot highway.

An Alto car was reportedly on way from Amritsar to Jammu when it hit behind a moving truck which was on its way from Kathua to Jammu, sources told The Publish. The Alto car bore registration number JK01AF 1361 while the truck had JK08D 1504.

Locals immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the bodies from the spot. Cops from the Samba Police also arrived at the scene of accident in a while. The victims were shifted to the district hospital Samba.

A case has been registered by the Samba Police in this regard for further investigation.
